Facebook apps are no longer pre-installed on Huawei smartphones

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei, which is facing a trade ban from US President Donald Trump and Google, is facing another ban from another US tech giant, according to Reuters.

The technology giant is Facebook. Huawei users will still be able to download WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook apps and continue to upgrade through the Play Store, but the Facebook app will no longer be pre-installed on phones like other apps.

Huawei phones are still able to undergo security upgrades due to Google’s provisional license, and any Huawei phone that is already on the market will have pre-installed Google services. Facebook, which is currently banning Huawei, will no longer allow pre-installed phones on existing phones in the factory.
